Tak się zastanawiam, ile to jeszcze Pratchett książek napisze. I nie - nie chodzi mi tu o czas do śmierci, chociaż może to byłaby najodpowiedniejsza data zakończenia jego działalności pisarskiej, ale chodzi mi o czas, kiedy już wyczerpią mu się pomysły i potrzeba będzie do owocnej pracy kubeczek wiagry...

Jak myślicie? Ile jeszcze Terry książek napisze? Ile jeszcze pomysłów wbije mu się do głowy?

Ja sądzę, że kasy to ma akurat wbród. Tak samo jak pomysłów. Córka robi karierę, więc nie musi dziatwie zapewniać przyszlośći finansowej, sama sobie radzi.
Zresztą dochody T.P. to z tego co czyatłem, i co sam mówił 1% ze sprzedaży wszystkich ksiażek na wyspach. To JEST dużo. A może i więcej...

Co do pomysłów, to czytając wywiady, odniosłem wrażenie, że T.P. ma ich jeszcze mnówsto, tylko nie te lata już. Przecież życie Pratchett'a to nie tylko procesor tekstu i komputer. To wywiady, teraz ma wyjść seria gier na komórki, nad którą czuwa, pewnie niedługo zaskoczy nas jakąś grą. Discworld teraz to już nie seria ksiażek, to cały przemysł. Trzeba nad tym zapanować, skoordynować, wyrazić ostateczna opnię. To wszystko zajmuje czas.

A im człowiek jest starszy, i przekroczy już pewien próg, to w dziwny sposób życie zaczyna przypominać wino. Zaczyna sie nim wtedy smakować, wtedy się je docenia, zaczyna się uważać, zęby czasem się nie roztrzaskało przy przenoszeniu...itp.

Ale ogólna moja myśl jest taka, iż napewno jeszcze długo będziemy czytali ksiażki z serii ŚD i wydawali kasę na okołodyskowy przemysł. No chyba że Tom Cruise nie uratuje Ziemi przed kosmitami :mrgreen:

Można więc powiedzieć, że pan Terry nie ma czasu na nudę.

A to książkę skrobnąć, a to nad grami komórkowymi czuwać, a to jeszcze coś innego... On musi coś brać, żeby ze wszystkim nadążać.

Trochę zagubiony jestem w tym forum, jeszcze go dokładnie nei poznałem (dłuuugo mnie nie było) i pozapominałem paru tematów itd.

Nie wiem, czy wrzuciłem info o stanie zdrowia Terry'ego, a jak wrzuciłem. to noie mogę znaleść. W każdym bądź razie, podczas podpisywania książek w Denver, Terry poczuł się źle i ambulans zabrał go do szpitala.

That stopped the tour, because I couldn't get on the slab until the following afternoon. Anyone who'd had an angiogram -- and at the rate they are being done now that is a very fast-growing group) knows that the aftermath takes time, because you're left with a hole in an artery that has to be allowed to heal. Around the top of the things not to do is continue with a signing tour, especially one that involves flying.

The angio turned up nothing but good news, as far as I could tell. The stents appeared to be fine and there was some indication that the
anti-cholesterol meds are going their stuff.

It wasn't a lot of fuss over nothing, but a lot of fuss --rightly so, speaking as the owner of the heart--over what might have been something.

I'm sorry it messed up everyone's plans, but as I get older something like this is always going to be on the cards, and even though it would be a cool way to go I don't want to die signing. I've signed in bad health before now, but while I can always get more viruses, I'm, unlikely to get another heart.

But a bit of a bugger, really, given that I got through a 3-week US tour okay.

Terry ma się dobrze po ostatnich sercowych rewolucjach (aż dziw, że nikt nie wyraził swojego zdania na ten temat). Oto co powiedział podczas podpisywania książek:

W Polsce ten zabieg nazywa się koronarografią. To jest badanie stanu naczyń wieńcowych poprzez sondę wsuwaną do tętnicy udowej. Przy okazji, jeżeli następuje taka konieczność, robi się też różne zabiegi na naczyniach wieńcowych (np. balonikowanie - czyli rozpychanie prześwitu żył, zablokowanych głównie przez cholesterol).
Nie jest to bardzo ryzykowny zabieg, ale zawsze ingerencja...
Wszystko chyba przez ten tłuszcz, w kawałkach ciasta, polany tłuszczem, któy Terry zjadł w Polsce. :wink:

If this works, it's because dwindera gave me painstaking intructions ('place
fingers on keyboard...KEYBOARD...it's that oblong thing...) and here I am,
maybe. Couple of points (I've been reading a few previous messages). My
33mhz 486 is no longer a goshwow machine, Dell having done their usual trick
of waiting until I bought it before dropping the price hugely. I keep
vaguely wondering what Macs are like, but the ones I've seen spend too much
time being friendly....Bravd and the Weasel were indeed takeoffs of Leiber
characters -- there was a lot of that sort of thing in TCOM. But I didn't --
at least conciously, I suppose I must say -- create Ankh-Morpork as a takeoff
of Lankhmar. Originally it was just Morpork, then Ankh just sounded
nice...hmm...I don't think those are too bad as inconsistencies over 13
books, especially since I could argue about one or two....I'm not happy about
the US covers, but they sell better with those than with Josh's, according to
Roc; peronsally, I think most of them are very poor and usually bear the
merest relationship to the text. Um. Can't remember any more. Farewell! I
