Folks,
Thank you all for your good wishes during the illness and death of my father, David Pratchett.
He was 84 so the word "tragedy" does not really apply. We had also had the better part of a year to come to terms with the inevitable. I have to admit that the last couple of weeks and then the organisation of the funeral and all the paperwork that has to be generated at time like this were something of a trial. Mum is staying with us for a week and then we'll be into a new situation as we see how well she can cope on her own.
But, although the various files concerning my dad's estate are littering the office floor, I am back at work and things are back to something approaching normal. In fact normal is just what we are trying to achieve right now so I *can* deal with fan mail and other queries. Life goes on.

| Zapewne zainteresuje Was informacja, że Pterry oznajmił dziś na grupie ok. 12, że jego opóźniony z powodu śmierci ojca wyjazd do Rosji, odbędzie się w pierwszym tygodniu czerwca tego roku. |

To mi pachnie Nobbym, który bierze wolne z powodu pogrzebu babci. Trzy razy w roku.
Ale w tym przypadku chodzi pewnie o rocznicę śmierci. Tak po prostu. |

Wszakże chciałabym, żeby wpadł do Polski, w przyszłym roku. Wyjasnilibyśmy mu, że wprawdzie może pożeramy ludzi, ale za to nożem i widelcem... |

As far as we can tell, I had a minor stroke about two years ago. I didn't know it at the time. I was working hard on Wintersmith and then immediately on Making Money and the fact that my typing seemed more erratic than usual I put down to hard work and, not to put too finer point on it, old age creeping on. It was only a couple of months ago that I was thinking about having an MRI scan, mostly because I had just typed a sentence that I couldn't understand!
It appears to have been "one of those things". Frankly, over the years I have suffered from "those things" so often that I might as well check into the Royal Things hospital. The only other effect seems to be slightly more tiredness and less mental alertness at the end of the day.
And that's it. I was astonished to get through the six hour twenty-five minutes signing at Forbidden Planet in London the other week and still be in a shape to go out for a business dinner afterwards, especially since my previous best time of five hours fifty-eight minutes left me hallucinating. Clearly adrenalin is the best medicine. In the longer term, though, there really is going to have to be a reduction in touring. What I will add, though, is that all current commitments including the Australian tour, the UK Discworld Convention next year and the proposed US Discworld Convention in 2009 will be honoured, provided my health is no worse than it is now. |

Nacia, wszyscy się cieszymy, że potrafisz pisać tym koszmarnym skrótowcem, jednak w postach go nie używaj. Męczy oczy i utrudnia czytanie. |

I w tym momencie zrobiło się na forum smutno Miejmy nadzieję że te nowe amerykańskie metody z komórkami macierzystymi są skuteczne, a Terry`ego stać na tego typu zabieg
Ale skoro on podchodzi do tego optymistycznie... |
