alt.fan.pratchett podaje, że:
Uberwald Nights.
Doesn't Exist. Will Never Exist.
Made up by the irc channel.
A Cruel Prank.
ewentualnie.
Bekannt sind mir momentan "Unclear Physics", "Words in the Head", "Indian Summer" (später mutiert in "Klatchian Summer"), "Uberwald Nights", "The Last Tramp" und "Secret Societies".
Der neueste Discworld-Roman "Night Watch" lief vorübergehend unter dem Arbeitstitel "The Nature of the Beast", der aber verworfen wurde, weil erst kürzlich ein Werk gleichen Titels (10/2001, Frances Fyfield) erschienen ist und somit Verwirrung vorprogrammiert gewesen wäre.
The Fifth Elephant (the working title of which had been Uberwald Nights)
To chyba rozwiązuje sprawę

That's Right, THE Terry Pratchett.
Well,
firstly I'm pretty certain it was Terry or if not it was
someone who knew a lot about him. I should have printed a
transcript of the conversation shouldn't I? Well here's what
I can remember of it:
At first I was suspicious
as his profile mentions Carpe Jugulum and Uberwald
Nights, I thought Uberwald Nights was Carpe Jugulum but
he said no, Uberwald nights was now The 5th
Elephant(the next book).
I said: thanks for clearing that
up.
HIM: No worries
ME: Lol I've just finished The Last
Continent, I though it was your best along with small
gods.
HIM: Are you the same Rugby that used to be in
AFP?
ME: I used to post a bit a while ago
HIM:
Originally from NZ right?
ME: No
HIM: oh, I'm thinking
of someone else then
Did you know I've left
AFP?
ME: Yes, something to do with people guessing at
storeys right?
ME: Is that how you spell
storeys?
HIM: They got very close, it made me sweat.
HIM:
stories
ME: They really got that close?
HIM: Yes. Have you
read Carpe Jugulum?
ME: No, not yet so dont spoil
it for me
HIM: Ok I won't spoil it for you,
but there was an extended thread going on for a
couple of weeks in which they were discussing one of the
main characters, certainly made me sweat.
ME:
Couldn't you just ask them to stop?
ME: I guess you
did?
HIM: No why should I?
ME: Well, you could explain
to them why and let them make the choice. I'm sure
AFP was better when you posted.
HIM: Not
necessarily, every thread I posted to immediately became
[R]
Not all, for exaple, the Loch Ness Monster thread was
completely [I]
HIM: *smile* Well, that was a long time
ago.
ME: Can I ask a question about Theatre of
Cruelty
HIM: Shoot
ME: How come Carrot can see and talk to
death?
HIM: People in heightened states of awareness can see
him, and people who know he's there can see
him.
ME: Oh right, so you only cant see him if you dont
believe he's there?
HIM: Something like that, being
the auther I'm allowed to fiddle around with the
legend a bit
ME: Like the alternative
pasts?
HIM: Exactly.
ME: Well, it's been really nice
pestering you but I think it's my bedtime.
ME: I also
noticed Borass was wrong.
HIM: eh? It's nearly 1am, I
usually go to bed at 11pm, remind me.
ME: err? Don't
forget you usually go to bed at 11pm Terry?
HIM:
About Borass...
ME: In the front of the Discworld
Mapp, XXXX broke away from the counterweight continent.
Possibly on wheels of some kind.
ME: I cant believe you
forget these things.
HIM: It happens.
HIM: Well,
like you said, alternate pasts.
ME: Well, sorry to
bore you with a [R] conversation.
<Terry Logs
off>
ME: Do you sometimes get bored with the
discworld?
ME: Oh, he's gone. Goodnight then Terry. |

Dzięki Aido. Faktycznie wszystko już jasne.
Swoją drogą szkoda, że 5E zastąpił Uberwald Nights. Mnie, ten drugi tytuł podoba się dużo bardziej... |
